Longstreet Clinic is seeking a caring and dedicated physician assistant or nurse practitioner to join our Family Medicine practice in the heart of the Georgia mountains, Dahlonega, Ga. The physician assistant or nurse practitioner in this role would be responsible for working alongside our providers or independently by facilitating compassionate care in accordance with State and Federal rules and regulations.
This includes but not limited to performing age-appropriate history and physical for patients of all ages. Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patient’s age-specific needs. Prescribes appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities. Implements interventions to support the patient to regain or maintain physiologic stability. Monitors the effectiveness of interventions. Facilitate the patient’s transition in our facility from admission to discharge. Facilitates patient and family in decision making by providing educational tools. Candidates should hold a nurse practitioner license in Georgia and new graduates are acceptable, though experience is a plus.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited Program
Current Georgia license is required
Strong knowledge base of HIPAA and OSHA will be helpful
Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
Patience, Empathy, Compassion, and ability to work as a team
Excellent bedside manner and solid clinical judgement
Proficient in the use of simple medical instruments and equipment
Bi-lingual candidates preferred but not required.
Participating in our rotating outpatient on-call schedule is required.
Current certificate in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); PALS, ATLS, is recommended but not required
