Breastfeeding

Many new mothers choose to breastfeed their newborns. There are many benefits for your baby if you choose to breastfeed, including helping their immune system develop. Breastfed babies are able to fight off diseases and infections and, in turn, typically have to visit a pediatrician less.

Breast milk is easier to digest than formula and it has the perfect amount of nutrients your baby needs to grow. Nursing also aids in your body’s natural postpartum health. Additionally, breast milk is free!

To learn more about breastfeeding, sign up for one of our breastfeeding education classes  or talk with your physician. Our Certified Nurse Midwives also are available to help you with breastfeeding. They can provide encouragement and spend time with you to develop a method that works.

At the Center for Women’s Health, we understand that caring for a woman’s health requires more than just good “medical” care. Call (770) 297-2200 or contact us to schedule an appointment with one of our experienced physicians to help you with your health needs.
