Infertility Counseling

Infertility Counseling

Infertility is a difficult situation that is stressful for both partners. There are many factors that can affect your ability to conceive. The causes of infertility can involve both men and women.
It is important to understand that reproductive health can be affected by lifestyle choices. It is important to be very honest with your partner about your sexual history. Previous sexually transmitted infections or pelvic inflammatory disease can affect your ability to reproduce.
It is recommended that you should consider scheduling an appointment with a physician if:
  • You have had more than one miscarriage
  • Your menstrual cycle is irregular or nonexistent
  • You have been trying to conceive for more than a year
Before counseling, record important details about your cycle and your attempts to conceive. Make sure you write down any questions you may have.
