Balance Center

Are you at risk for falls?

Each year, millions of older adults fall due to loss of foot traction, changes in reflexes, changes in muscle mass, changes in vision and a variety of other factors. Longstreet Clinic’s Balance Center can help prevent them.

Do any of the following apply to you?

  • Stroke survivor
  • Head injury
  • Elderly or aging
  • Vertigo patient
  • Had a previous fall
  • Neuropathy

Many adults are unaware that falls are a serious health problem that is largely preventable. Falls increase the risk of trauma injuries, fractures and potentially early death. (CDC: Facts About Falls)

Some medical conditions that are associated with a higher risk for falls include:

  • Diabetes
  • Vertigo
  • Peripheral neuropathy
  • Recent hip or knee replacement
  • Recent hip fracture
  • Dizziness
  • Vertigo
  • Stroke
  • Ringing in the ears
