Obstetric Ultrasound

Obstetric Ultrasound

Ultrasounds are the best prenatal test to provide insight into your unborn baby’s world. Our obstetric ultrasounds are conducted by either an ultrasound technician or a certified nurse midwife. Ultrasounds use high frequency sound waves that cannot be heard by the human ear to examine a woman’s body. The first thing your physician will look for in an ultrasound is your baby’s heartbeat.
Ultrasounds can also help your physician:
  • Determine the gender of your baby
  • Examine your uterus and ovaries
  • Check the physical development of your baby
  • Help identify the expected due date of your baby
  • Check for abnormal bleeding
  • Identify if there is more than one baby
The Center for Women’s Health offers several types of ultrasounds
  • 4D
  • 3D
  • Doppler
  • Transabdominal
  • Transvaginal

We understand that caring for a woman’s health requires more than just good “medical” care. Call (770)297-2200 or contact us to schedule an appointment with an experienced providers at one of our four convenient locations.
