Longstreet Clinic’s Daling Selected as ‘Preceptor of the Year’

Kommerina Daling, M.D., a family physician with Longstreet Clinic Family Medicine in Oakwood, was recently selected as Emory’s “Preceptor of the Year” for the 2016-2017 academic year. The honor was given to Daling on behalf of the directors of the Adult Primary Care Clerkship and the students at the Emory University School of Medicine.

According to Emory’s Department of Family and Preventive Medicine and Undergraduate Medical Education, Daling was selected as the Preceptor of the Year because of “her continued support and hard work in educating” medical students at Emory University.

Daling was praised for providing students with “support to feel comfortable all while encouraging them to step out of their comfort zones.”

“Your responsiveness to their concerns builds a level of lasting confidence to be applied as they become competent providers of the future.”

Daling has practiced with Longstreet Clinic since 2013.

“I am grateful for the support of Longstreet Clinic, which makes it possible for me to offer rotations to the Emory students,” she said. “I am grateful to all support staff here at our office who help me welcome students, from front desk to nurses, lab, midlevel providers and colleague physicians.”

Daling accepted her award at the annual OPEX, Pediatric and Adult Primary Care Faculty Appreciation Dinner on Oct. 24.

She earned her medical degree from Vrije Universiteit of Amsterdam, Netherlands, and completed her family medicine residency at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta. Daling is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and treats patients 6 months and older, with particular interests in adolescents and women’s health. She also speaks four languages: English, Dutch, German and French. To schedule an appointment with Dr. Daling, please call (770) 534-6053.
