Six Longstreet Clinic physicians recently earned recognition as Atlanta Magazine’s Top Doctors for 2023.
Longstreet Clinic’s honorees were:

- Eric Velazquez, MD, MBA, FACS, FASMBS, Bariatric Surgery
Each July Atlanta Magazine recognizes the achievements of these physicians, placing them as leaders among their peers – as judged from a pool of over 1,000 candidates across 62 specialties.
This represents the eighth year Gibbs has earned this distinction and the seventh year for Allaire and Schultz. Drs. Grunch and Strom also make their second appearances in the honors. Dr. Velazquez, who is featured on the cover, joined Longstreet Clinic in October 2021. He previously was named a top doctor in surgery by Philadelphia magazine from 2018 to 2021.
Atlanta magazine uses a database compiled by Castle Connolly to assist in its selection for the annual “Top Doctors” issue. Castle Connolly’s physician-led team of researchers select the physicians through a rigorous screening process that includes an evaluation of educational and professional experience. All physicians in DeKalb, Fulton, Cobb, Clayton, Gwinnett, Carroll, Cherokee, Coweta, Douglas, Fayette, Forsyth, Hall, Henry, and Rockdale counties are invited to participate and are nominated by their peers.
