TLC named ‘champion’ for state’s EHR incentive program

The Longstreet Clinic, P.C., recently was named a 2013 Program Champion for the Georgia Medicaid EHR Incentive Program by the Department of Community Health. One of just two recipients in the state, the honor recognizes excellence in the following areas:

•                Reporting Patient Volume according to CMS guidelines
•                Furnishing excellent evidence of Adoption, Implementation or Upgrade (AIU)
•                Making above-and-beyond efforts to achieve Meaningful Use
•                Making above-and-beyond efforts to understand and adhere to program regulations and guidelines

Chief Operating Officer T. Loren Funk accepted the award on behalf of The Longstreet Clinic.
The Longstreet Clinic was an early adopter of Electronic Health Record technology. TLC’s Center for Pediatrics implemented an EHR in June 2001, and by 2005 all TLC ambulatory practices had implemented the technology.

TLC was honored for its commitment to EHR technology solutions with the 2008 e-Technology Award. Presented by the Physicians’ Institute for Excellence, the award was the top honor for successfully developing and implementing an electronic medical records system that showcases replicable, innovative technology solutions that have a positive impact on clinical practice and quality care.

The Longstreet Clinic, P.C. (TLC), is an independent multi-specialty medical group owned and managed by physicians. Since 1995, TLC has grown to include more than 150 providers in some 16 specialties at locations in 10 Northeast Georgia cities. TLC consistently ranks as one of the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s Top Physician Group Practices and is the second largest independent practice in Metro Atlanta.
