TLC physicians represent Hall County for ‘Doctors Day’ at Capitol

On Jan. 30, the Medical Association of Georgia sponsored Doctors Day at the state Capitol, which was attended by more than 50 physicians from all around the state of Georgia.

Hall County was represented by Dan Mullis, M.D., TLC general surgeon and president of the Hall County Medical Society; Andrew Reisman, M.D., TLC family physician and second vice president of the Medical Association of Georgia; Kip Schultz, M.D., TLC neurosurgeon and vice president Hall County Medical Society; and Jack Chapman, M.D., a Gainesville ophthalmologist and chairman of the Georgia Medical Political Action Committee.

The delegation met with Ga. House Representatives Lee Hawkins, Carl Rogers, Geoff Duncan, and Timothy Barr, as well as Ga. Senator Butch Miller. They also met briefly with Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle, and met Governor Nathan Deal for a picture with all the white coated physicians at the Capitol.

The morning began with a review by Rep. Sharon Cooper, chairman of the health care committee, on challenges to medicine. The afternoon culminated with a luncheon attended by more than assemblyman. They all spoke briefly in support of medicine and were thrilled to have their constituents visiting them at the Capitol.
